Overload detection systems

Loadsafe is a low cost load measuring and overload detection system from Dunlop Systems, available for retrofit by Astra to any light commercial vehicle brand.

Loadsafe involves installing height sensors between the axle and the chassis of the cab. When load is introduced the vehicle suspension will lower. Loadsafe accurately measures the amount of spring deflection, to give a direct indication of the load on the vehicle.

Load is indicated on a visual display via a series of LED’s, with separate indication for front and rear axles and also for the GVW. If any of the axles or the GVW is overloaded RED LED’s are illuminated and an audible alarm triggered.
