From 1st March 2019, chassis conversions specialist, Astra Vehicle Technologies Ltd has been appointed UK distributor, representing well known French manufacturer of emission free braking systems – Telma S.A.
Covering the territories of United Kingdom & Ireland (north & south), Astra will provide a UK based installation and replacement part resource for Telma products. Telma is the famous worldwide brand of retarder systems at both original equipment and retrofit levels in the truck, bus, crane, emergency services and home delivery sectors and though often fitted by OEM’s as original fit are also particularly suited to applications that experience heavy brake usage and consequent wear and could therefore also be retrofitted.

Unlike traditional brake pads, Telma retarders, work without friction, they are totally silent and emission free braking systems. Absorbing up to 95% of deceleration operations, Telma systems whether original or retrofitted significantly extend the life of traditional friction based braking systems, extending the service life of a friction brake reducing maintenance frequency and costs. Lastly, a Telma retarder significantly increases the safety of a vehicle for the peace of mind and comfort of the driver and passengers.
