Astra Vehicle Technologies Ltd had a great day in Manchester yesterday supporting F and G Manchester and DAF UK with their Low Level Passenger Side Window, ClearView.

Our all new LF Windows is now completed and installed on the F and G Demonstration vehicle. The team from Astra had a great day with many Stakeholders, Manufactures and Fleet Operators at the Freight in the City Conference in Manchester. There were some great speakers from both the public sector and private sector, putting their plans and points of view forwards.

As third parties it was interesting to see just how the needs of the industry are being addressed by both local and national government. Also interesting was the diverse manner of which industry was being tasked to overcome issues raised by the authorities. It was clear that change was needed to accommodate continued growth for the region.

We thought it could appear daunting the amount of change that governing bodies are suggesting. In addition it can be a little confusing for industry when several organisations are forwarding their own interpretations of legislation and Industry recommendations. It seemed pretty unanimous that one thing that thing that would be appreciated as far as the private sector was concerned was a bit of joined up thinking from government with less public funded organisations involved, with a wider profile, whom intern were better informed from both legislative requirements and how their decisions are likely to impact a very commercially sensitive industry.

It was also apparent just how impressively quickly the whole industry, have adapted to the ever changing commercial and legislative landscape and continuing to meet the requirements of an ever more demanding public.
