The future is
Bio-CNG

The latest in IVECO’s line-up of natural gas-powered heavy trucks
Natural gas is currently the only viable means of reducing carbon emissions from transport in the here and now.

Change… It’s only natural

Making your mission environmentally responsible doesn’t have to mean compromise. Striking the perfect balance between emissions, economy, and performance, IVECO’s Natural Gas vehicles dramatically reduce CO2 emissions.

Running on biomethane, CO2 reductions of up to 95% versus an equivalent diesel truck are a reality. IVECO’s CNG vehicles can also yield a 99% reduction in Particulate Matter and 60% NOx savings compared to a Euro VI diesel.

One of the toughest missions for modern fleet operators is that of decarbonisation. Meeting challenging CSR targets requires a fleet that doesn’t compromise on performance, Total Cost of Ownership or its environmental targets. The IVECO S-Way Natural Gas 6×2 has been designed and engineered to be the perfect partner.

Connectivity
5 years as standard

The new IVECO S-Way is one of the most connected vehicles on the road thanks to state-of-the-art monitoring technology. Equipped with 5 years of connectivity features as standard, drivers and operators can reap the benefits of increased efficiency and productivity.

IVECO On Access

This online platform allows operators to monitor vehicle status and location, with optional IVECO On Plus providing additional features such as live tracking information.

Professional Fuel Report and CO2 monitoring

Understand fleet efficiency and how further fuel savings could be made. Individual vehicles and drivers can be monitored with the vehicle’s selectable drive modes able to be preselected by transport managers.

Professional Safe Report

Critical data such as vehicle speed, braking harshness and overall inertia come together to help paint a picture of vehicle operational safety. The data is essential to help improve fleet safety by applying corrective measures.

Uptime monitoring

By continuously monitoring vehicle health, potential issues can be proactively tackled to prevent unplanned stoppages.

Over-the-Air Updates

Connected vehicles can download the latest software updates directly, at a convenient time while on mission, without the need to visit a dealer. This forward-thinking solution helps keep vehicles on the road and out of the workshop.

Easy Way App

Key controls at your fingertips, the Easy Way App can give remote access to key features such as door and window controls, heater programming and more. It also contains the Easy Guide for quick access to the maintenance manual.

The new IVECO S-Way continues a lineage of trucks designed with drivers in mind.

From the improved ‘car-like’ seating position and excellent all-around visibility, to impressive ergonomics and essential storage, the enhanced cab puts you at the centre.

This modern AS cab is amongst the most spacious in its class, providing generous sleeping quar ters with shor tcut switches for key controls fall to hand as you relax. Multiple charging por ts to keep the modern-driver’s smar t devices topped-up are conveniently placed, while the highly sculpted centre console provides yet more storage.

Technology courses through the new IVECO S-Way, with a customisable digital instrument cluster delivering the exact information you need behind the wheel. A large touchscreen infotainment system featuring rich graphics provides access to navigation and a suite of media functionality. Standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto puts the apps you’re familiar with right at your finger tips. Aerodynamic Mirror Cams not only boost visibility beyond traditional mirrors, but also deliver a fuel saving benefit of up to 1.5% thanks to reduced drag.

CNG FAQ

What is the fuel consumption of the IVECO S-Way Natural Gas?

There are many variables to consider when talking about the fuel economy of any vehicle. Weight, speed, driving style, weather, traffic conditions, terrain, mission profile, as well as the specification of trailer and truck configuration all play a part. However, all things being equal, there is an up to 11% fuel cost saving fuel compared to diesel.

How much is natural gas?

Just like diesel, the price of natural gas can fluctuate, and so your nearest gas supplier will be able to provide the most up-to-date information. CNG is typically cheaper than LNG, with CNG around 80p per KG, making it an excellent option when considering Total Cost of Ownership.

Why are gas tractor units more expensive than diesel models?

A gas-powered truck features advanced technological solutions to ensure smooth running, reliability, and excellent reductions in emissions. A redesigned engine with all-new control unit, unique injectors and sensors, robust fuel tanks designed to store gas at 200bar, structural changes and release valves to boost safety, more durable exhaust elements, and a CNG high flow fuelling nozzle are all expertly engineered.

Are gas trucks safe?

Experience in operating gas vehicles in the real-world shows that they are at least as safe as a conventional diesel model. Extensive testing during development saw fuel tanks engineered to withstand extreme temperature change and fire. In this instance if the CNG within the tanks becomes over pressurised, gas can be vented to reduce any risk. Additionally, any gas leak is easily detected by smell thanks to a chemical additive.

Is it difficult to refuel a gas vehicle?

CNG is one of the safest and easiest forms of natural gas to refuel with a simple nozzle with locking mechanism attached to the vehicle with refuelling times being similar to that experienced with diesel trucks.

Why is R&M more expensive?

R&M packages are the perfect way to keep costs predictable and ensure your truck receives the expert maintenance it deserves. The main reason for a slight price increase versus diesel is due to increased service intervals (75,000km) to ensure optimum vehicle running. Oil temperatures run higher than in a diesel vehicle, and it is mission-critical that pipes and connections are regularly checked to avoid unexpected stoppages.

How clean is natural gas versus diesel?

Natural gas is the most eco-friendly fuel for internal combustion engines, delivering significant environmental advantages. Local air quality benefits from 60% less NOx, 99% less PM, and 90% less NMHC vs Euro VI limits. When run on biomethane, the IVECO S-Way Natural Gas can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 95% versus an equivalent diesel truck. Noise pollution is also greatly reduced when compared with conventional vehicles.
